Pine Cone Fish

pine cone fish, nature crafts

These little pine cone fish have popped up before..

inside this egg carton whale, but really felt it was time they had a post of their own!

They are so simple to do. For the tails, cut triangles from some cereal box card or other spare card, and fold one of the points over.

Glue to the flatter end of the pine cone. Best to use a strong adhesive like UHU glue, or use a glue gun. If you like, shape the end of the tail some more before gluing into place.

Paint the fish lots of bright colours. Use them for collages or displays, or for colour recognition and counting games with little ones.
