What a difference a month makes...though not necessarily to the weather...still depressingly un-May-like. So glad I took this photo last week!
But there have been a few lovely days and just enough warmth for the countryside to spring back to life in spectacular fashion. Obviously helped by all that rain.
It's as if the starting gate was slow to lift, and now it has, everything's growing at a gallop; making up for lost time. Especially the weeds.
There's little space left in my flower beds now, and the trees and hedges have plumped up since April's photo, changing the landscape a little; filling out the lines.
And you see that swirl of smoke? It caught my eye as I snapped away at the window - someone taking advantage of a dry day and having a fire....Then on sunday I almost fell out of the window when I spotted a hot air balloon IN MY SHOT, I mean actually there, in the Room with a View space, hovering on the horizon, but sadly there wasn't enough light for it to be visible in the photo. Such a shame.
It's all just so amazingly green at the moment. Fresh, vibrant, hopeful. If it was a paint colour it would be something like New Green or Lush Grass, or maybe Squeaky Green?
