Red Sky at night - The Gallery

I've taken a lot of red sky pictures; well actually I've taken a lot of sky pictures. Even surprised me how many there were, scrolling through my photos.
They're mostly sunsets; can't quite get organised enough for sunrises.. and they're mostly taken close to home, or at home, hanging out of a window. I'll never tire of trying to catch a sunset: all so different, all so remarkable. Hard sometimes to reflect in a photo, but that won't stop me having a go.
They are an everyday wonder, often hidden by a curtain of clouds; but when the curtain rises, what a show!  Bright, beautiful, dramatic, uplifting - and over too quickly.

More splashes of colour over at The Gallery - the theme this week is Red

  1. I adore these types of pictures - have one currently as my blog header. We do get some amazing sun rises and sun sets in this country.

  2. Excellent photos - well captured! Love the last one. Big skies are wonderful, aren't they? They always have quite an effect on me - I'm not a spiritual person at all, but amazing skies and rainbows........ x

  6. Lovely pictures! I do the same - try to capture a sunset right from my own garden or window, I don't travel anywhere specifically to do it. Sometimes I come up with a really good pic, most of the time they don't do the sky justice!

    1. it can be really frustrating, can't it? When the pics don't come out the way you see the sunset. And the colours change so quickly. Lots of opportunities to try though when you do it from home!

  7. Wow! Great photos. They make me mourn loosing all my travel pics at some point over our home renovation travails.

  9. Nicely captured. We get a lot here in Lanzarote, both sunrises and sunsets. They never cease to bring a sense of awe and wonder.
